Arsenal's interest in Fofana stretches well back to last year
First reported 2026-08-31 18:34 BST
Arsenal refusing to proceed with Fofana at around £25m has nothing to do with finances. The funds are available and the price falls within the club’s valuation. Arsenal have sporting reservations over the player, including concerns around his recent injury, and perhaps a loan would have represented the safer route given those uncertainties. Ultimately, this is a sporting decision, not a financial one.
