Understand Feyenoord directors Devy Rigaux and Robert Eenhoorn have blocked Hadj Moussa’s proposed move to Al-Ittihad. Al-Ittihad met all the demands on a proposed transfer worth around €42.5m, over 12 times the €3.5m Feyenoord paid. Terms were in place before Feyenoord insisted on a bank guarantee. Al-Ittihad not prepared to provide one as not seen as necessary or feasible so close to the deadline. Internal politics a factor at Feyenoord. Sources believe Friends of Feyenoord would depart from the board if Hadj Moussa is sold. Friends of Feyenoord key backers in appointing Eenhoorn. Similar issue with Givario Read’s failed move to Roma.
