The Guardian reports that Arsenal are looking at Konsa and that the Gunners could face “competition” from Liverpool if they firm up their interest. But the Birmingham club want around £60m for Konsa: “Arsenal are now expected to step up their attempts to sign a defender and another forward before the end of the transfer window. They could face competition from Liverpool in their attempts to sign Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa due to concerns over William Saliba’s back issues that will see him miss an extended period.” “It is thought that Villa want £60m for the England defender but Arsenal are unwilling to pay that much for a player who has less than two years of his contract remaining.”

It was dismissed out of hand at the time. Villa prefer to keep, and it is expected to take a £60m+ bid to change that.🏴

Konsa is the preferred Arsenal / Arteta target. This issue is Villa are firm in their valuation of 60m and they are not bluffing as of today. As for the player, he is very very open to move to Arsenal but so far has not agitated for a move. Konsa has spoken to a couple of Arsenal lads about the paper talk and life at Arsenal. In the meanwhile, Arsenal have spoken Quansah directly. Player is very open to Arsenal. No club to club yet. Fee will be key. As of very recently, Arsenal really tried for Romero. The player was very open to the move but ultimately, Tottenham outright refused to let their captain make the switch.

STANDS🚨 Arsenal now advancing to close the Konsa deal. Still some work left to do. Im told the player really pushed for the move and wanted to switch to the English Champions. Tension between clubs from the Watkins saga alleviated by Josh Kroenke stepping in and engaging.
