STANDSMore on Marco Palestra and Chelsea. Inter had been hopeful of agreeing a transfer, but Chelsea have pulled off a quick hijack after agreeing a package in excess of €50m with Atalanta. Xabi Alonso a key part of the deal. 21-year-old is now finalising terms, having already picked Chelsea over Inter. Palestra viewed as a versatile two-sided full-back. Minutes of a left a factor in why Chelsea chose to move. Palestra was also offered to Arsenal and Liverpool as a move to England was explored this summer. Inter unable to match Chelsea’s wage proposal, but Palestra still fits within the club’s incentive-driven structure.🇮🇹

Newcastle like Marco Palestra but they have not made any attempt to sign him at this stage and believe he is heading elsewhere anyway. Suspicion their name has been used to flush out others. Welcome to another summer transfer window #nufc
