Had a look at why Liverpool might want Yankuba Minteh after yesterday’s bid (link skips that bit). He’s a grafter who would balance the attack and has scalable numbers, especially creatively. A shame about the injury but you buy for five years, not months!

🚨🔴BREAKING: Liverpool have submitted a final bid for Yankuba Minteh, with the club understood to have decided that they will not go any higher in their pursuit of the Brighton winger. Liverpool's valuation is understood to be around £65M, while Brighton are demanding approximately £75M to sanction a deal. PLAY ON#LFC 🔴 🚨 Liverpool are now in final stage talks with Yankuba Minteh’s representatives, with the Brighton winger’s agent (Bakary Bojang) having landed in the UK yesterday morning. Further talks are scheduled for today. Liverpool’s official bid was submitted between Sunday and yesterday, but there is still no indication whether Brighton have accepted or rejected the proposal. The feeling is that the offer remains under discussion internally at Brighton, with a decision still being considered. Liverpool believe £65m will get It done whilst Brighton say £70m is the asking price. Add ons included could help a deal get done quicker. An official announcement update on this saga will be due soon. Liverpool could move onto alternatives if it is seen as too pricey however they want Minteh.

There was some opportunistic exploration last week, but I struggle to see Liverpool paying £80m for a player facing another 2–3 months of recovery, with his post-injury condition still an unknown. #LFC are better off walking away & spend the £ wisely on a midfielder. #TransferNews
